Privacy Policy

The short version: ATRAS does not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no cookies, and no tracking of individuals. The rest of this page explains what little data is involved in running the site, and where it lives.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. ATRAS has no sign-up, no login, and no forms on the site itself. Your budget and bedroom settings stay in the page URL so you can share or revisit a search — they are not tied to you as a person.
Analytics (no cookies)
We use Umami (Umami Software, Inc.), a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the site is used in aggregate. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal information or IP addresses, and does not track you across sites — which is why you don't see a consent banner here. Along with page views, we count anonymous product events such as "a budget was set", "an area was viewed", or "a listing-site link was clicked". These numbers tell us which features help; none of them can be traced back to you.
Feedback and review forms (Google Forms)
Feedback and resident reviews are collected through Google Forms, which open in a new tab. Anything you submit there is stored by Google and covered by Google's Privacy Policy in addition to the notes on the form itself.
- Email addresses are optional and used only to reply to you — for feedback, to follow up on your report; for reviews, to record consent and contact you about your own review. We never publish them, never use them for marketing, and never share them.
- Review-related answers and emails are kept while the review is published (as the record of consent) and deleted within one year after it is removed.
External links
ATRAS links out to rental listing sites and other external pages. When you follow a listing-site link, the URL can carry your current search conditions (budget and bedrooms) — never any personal information. External sites have their own privacy policies; what you do there is between you and them.
Data sources
Everything shown on the map is aggregate statistics and public data — rent statistics from CMHC, area boundaries from CMHC and Statistics Canada, base map from OpenStreetMap, photos from freely licensed sources, and reviews published with their authors' permission. None of it is data about you. Formal attribution and licence details are on theTerms of Use page.
